On
behalf of the Board of Directors and the Regional
Directors I want to welcome you to our web site. We hope
that this site is helpful and informative and combined
with our monthly newsletter, The Villages Voice,
periodic articles in the Daily Sun and stories on WVLG
and VNN serve to keep you informed about our programs
and activities.
We continue to strive to make the VHA a proactive
organization that serves your needs and can help our
members get thing accomplished within the community of
The Villages that we call home.
Our goal is to facilitate communications between
residents, the districts, the center districts, local
merchants and where necessary and appropriate with the
developer.
We are very fortunate to have elected special purpose
governments, known as Community Development Districts (CDD's)
that are responsible for managing and administrating the
services needed to support our community. To learn more
about the Community Development Districts I strongly
recommend you attend the orientation offered weekly by
the Center Districts. For more information about the
schedule or specific questions about Community
Development Districts you can find contact information
in Recreation News that is published weekly in the Daily
Sun.
The Villages Homeowner's Association is organized into
Regions that reflect The Villages in Lake County and the
specific CDD districts. These regions meet independently
to discuss issues relative to their individual
neighborhoods. This enables your VHA to be more
responsive to individual members needs. The VHA has
neighborhood representatives in almost every
Village/Villa neighborhood. To locate these neighborhood
representatives simply select "About Us" then
"Neighborhood Representatives" or
click here to view the list. If you do not see a
neighborhood representative listed for your community
this is an opportunity for you to get involved; please
contact one of the VHA officers in your region to get
more information about becoming a Neighborhood
Representative.
General Membership meetings are on the second Wednesday
of January, March, May and October of each year.
Elections are held every March. These General Membership
meetings feature speakers that discuss issues that are
relevant to all residents of The Villages. Newcomer's
Welcome Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every
month to provide new residents as well as long-time
residents information about the services available in
the community. A social hour follows the Newcomer's
meeting to meet with new residents and representatives
in an informal setting. The VHA conducts monthly safety
clinics designed to assist residents in operating cars
and golf cars safely in the unique driving conditions in
The Villages.
Regional meetings are held at least four times a year
and have speakers or discussions that are of interest to
members in the region. Please check for times and
locations in the VHA monthly newsletter, The Villages
Voice or right here on our web site.
The VHA offers many more services to our members and to
the community including an active Partners Program with
local merchants; these merchants have special offers for
VHA members. To learn more, speak to your neighborhood
representative, attend you local regional VHA meeting or
give one us a call. All of your representatives are
listed in The Villages Voice. We invite you to join the
more than 10,000 members of our dynamic and growing
organization.
